The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) strongly believes the relationship between physician and patient should be free of government interference and political influence. We strongly denounce any restrictions into the practice of medicine that undermine the integrity of the patient-physician relationship.

In its recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the U.S. Supreme Court cast aside 49 years of precedent and eliminated the constitutional right of millions of Americans to make their own reproductive health decisions.

We assert that decisions made between physicians and their patients should not be influenced by any considerations other than the well-being of the patient. The ASBMR strongly opposes any effort to prohibit the delivery of appropriate, evidence-based, patient care.
