Therapeutic advances in oncology have led to a larger number of long-term cancer survivors. However, in many cases, cancer treatment directly or indirectly exerts negative effects on bone biology, and affected patients are prone to an increased risk of bone loss, osteoporosis, and consequent fractures. Even in highly prevalent conditions, too many patients remain undertreated and questions regarding choice and duration of osteoprotective treatment remain. Guest Editor and JBMR® Deputy Editor Lorenz Hofbauer, M.D., invites original papers and reviews that deal with the various aspects of epidemiology, health economics, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of bone disease related to cancer. Please visit the ASBMR Publications Hub for more details and to submit your paper today.
