    The ASBMR Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for President-Elect and Councilor to stand for election by the membership in the summer of 2024. The Society also seeks nominations for open committee chair and member positions. All elected officers, councilors, and committee members serve 3-year terms that begin following the 2024 Annual Meeting this fall. Open vacancies on each committee are listed here.

    ASBMR Announces Inaugural THRIVE Cohort
     
    We are thrilled to announce the inaugural cohort of the ASBMR THRIVE Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower and support emerging leaders in the bone, mineral and musculoskeletal research community. Selected through a rigorous process, these exceptional individuals embody the passion and dedication that drive advancements in our field. The THRIVE Cohort brings together a diverse group of researchers, clinicians, and educators who are poised to make significant contributions to the world of bone, mineral and musculoskeletal research.     Volunteer to Serve as an ASBMR 2024 Annual Meeting Abstract Reviewer or Moderator!

    The ASBMR Scientific Program Committee is seeking members to serve as abstract reviewers and oral session moderators for the ASBMR 2024 Annual Meeting in Toronto, ON, Canada from September 27-30, 2024.  

    Take advantage of this member-only opportunity to engage with fellow researchers, physicians, and experts in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. If you are interested in serving or nominating a colleague for either volunteer opportunity, please submit an interest form by Friday, February 16, 2024.
     
    The ASBMR Scientific Program Committee will review all volunteer submissions. Invitations for abstract reviewers will be sent in early spring 2024, and invitations for moderators will be sent in early summer 2024. For more information and to sign up, please visit the ASBMR website.

    The cohort program is designed for undergraduate, graduate, and medical professional students involved in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. Accepted applicants of the cohort program will benefit from free ASBMR membership as well as monthly webinars covering a wide range of topics related to professional and career development. During these sessions, students will be given the opportunity to participate and network. Students will be asked to provide feedback on their experiences with the program and other areas of ASBMR membership.

    The application deadline for the 2024 ASBMR Student Cohort Program is Wednesday, February 14, 2024. To learn more about the program and how to apply, please visit the ASBMR website.
    ASBMR is looking for members at all career stages to present their current research project as part of the 2024 Member Spotlight Series. Presentations will be conducted virtually and followed by Q&A and discussion with an audience of peers. All members may apply, although the Society especially seeks to highlight the research of members identifying as an underrepresented minority. To nominate yourself or a colleague, please follow the link below to complete the form.

    The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Research Centers Collaborative Network (RCCN) is offering travel awards for approximately 10 early career investigators or investigators in training to attend the symposium in person. Travel awards will cover the symposium registration fee, domestic travel to and from the symposium, and hotel accommodations. Successful applicants will be affiliated with at least one center belonging to an RCCN NIA-supported center program and have demonstrated translational or multidisciplinary interests in AI/tech and aging.
