The ASBMR Scientific Program Committee is seeking members who are willing to serve as abstract reviewers and oral session moderators for the ASBMR 2022 Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas, USA from September 9-12, 2022. Take advantage of this member-only opportunity to engage with fellow researchers, physicians, and experts in the bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal field. If you are interested in serving or nominating a colleague for either position, please complete this volunteer form by Friday, February 11, 2022. The ASBMR Scientific Program Committee will review all volunteer submissions. Invitations for abstract reviewers will be sent in March, and invitations for moderators will be sent in June. ASBMR is pleased to announce the ten recipients of the 2022 ASBMR John Haddad Young Investigator Awards! Dr. Haddad was a regular and active participant in the Advances in Mineral Metabolism (AIMM) and a Past-President of ASBMR. The leadership of AIMM and the ASBMR agreed to collaborate in honoring John Haddad, Jr., and in supporting the development of young investigators by establishing the ASBMR John Haddad Young Investigator Awards. These awards allow early career ASBMR investigators to participate in the 2022 AIMM-ASBMR Young Investigators' Meeting in Snowmass, Colorado, USA, April 4 - 9, 2022. Thank you to the 28 applicants who applied for the awards and congratulations again to the following ten recipients:

Katie Duffy Returns as Senior Director of Publications
Katie Duffy recently returned to ASBMR this month after taking 1 year off to be with her new son. In her role as the Senior Director of Publications, Katie is responsible for leading ASBMR’s publishing programs, which include management of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR®); JBMR Plus®, ASBMR’s premiere open access journal; and the new 10th edition of the Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism; as well as primary liaison to the Publications Committee. Katie has more than 20 years of experience in scientific, medical, and technical (STM) publishing, as well as in membership, marketing, editorial, digital content, and product development roles. Before originally joining ASBMR in 2016, Katie served as Publisher at the Institute of Physics Publishing, where she was responsible for the development of a general and applied physics portfolio that included Quantum Science and Technology, Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (PASP) and Modelling and Simulation in Materials Science and Engineering. Previously, Katie served as online content manager for journals at American Psychiatric Association (APA) Publishing, where she was responsible for the online publication of four leading research periodicals, digital CME content, video marketing, and platform management. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she also served on the board of directors for The Hatchet, the university’s independent student newspaper. She currently serves on the Committee for Marketing and Communications for the Society of Scholarly Publishing. Welcome back Katie!
