The ASBMR Leadership Education for Advancement (LEAD) program is returning for its second year to fill a gap in leadership education for junior and mid-career faculty in bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal science! The program will meet monthly in 2024 and is geared toward early and mid-career faculty, but ASBMR members at ALL career stages are encouraged to apply. The monthly sessions will be led by recognized experts in relevant leadership topics, followed by peer networking groups facilitated by senior career ASBMR members, and culminating with a networking reception at the 2024 ASBMR meeting in Toronto, ON, Canada. The goal is to build leadership and management skills that will allow ASBMR members to advance within their careers and remain active in the musculoskeletal field. ADA Releases 2024 Standards of Care in Diabetes The American Diabetes Association just released its 2024 Standards of Care in Diabetes to Guide Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment for People Living with Diabetes. A shortened version of the guidelines, known as the Abridged Standards of Care, will be made available for primary care providers in the journal Clinical Diabetes®, along with a convenient Standards of Care app as well as a Standards of Care pocket chart. The ASBMR partnered with the ADA to update the Bone Health section of the new resource—a relationship we aim to continue moving forward.
