Volunteers are at the heart of all that we do at ASBMR. Thank you for volunteering your time and expertise to help train and support a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive ASBMR community!
Expectations of THRIVE Mentors
- Meet with your assigned THRIVE Scholar for 1 hour each month for the duration of the program (i.e., 3 years).
- Meet with the THRIVE Scholar at the annual meeting and provide networking opportunities.
- Assist the THRIVE Scholar in formalizing two Individual Development Plans (IDP); one related to the Promotion and Tenure Guidelines at the Scholar’s academic institution and the second related to career and leadership development within the ASBMR.
- Advocate and recruit, particularly non-members, for the THRIVE Program.
Expectations of THRIVE Supplemental Mentors
Supplemental Mentors may be selected to enhance the THRIVE scholars’ experience by providing specific experience and expertise that is relevant to their IDP, research interests, and/or cultural background. Supplemental Mentors are not responsible for creating an IDP or for monthly meetings, but should be available as a resource upon request from the scholar or their primary mentor throughout the program.
